Lipo-filling for the perfect body: Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL)

Get the ideal curves through cosmetic surgery.

The Miss France 2018 pageant brought out our complexes. Watching those gorgeous young women parade around with their perfect bodies tends to remind us of the appearance of cellulite, loss of muscle tone in the buttocks and the love handles that have developed on our own bodies. But these are normal changes that come with age.

To remedy that, the Brazilian Butt Lift, also known as a buttock fat transfer or lipo-filling, is a technique from Latin America, which is used to recreate the curve of the buttocks.

The procedure involves using fat available from other areas of the body to reshape the patient’s figure and alter the size of the buttocks. It offers a very effective alternative to implants for a natural-looking result.

Different buttock shapes

Symbol of femininity, a woman’s figure depends on her unique genetic factors and individual morphology. Age, along with weight gain, for example during pregnancy, can lead to changes in the physical shape of the body.

In cosmetic surgery, buttock shapes are divided into different categories:

Square H shapeSquare

“H” shape: the sides of the buttocks lack volume. Lipo-filling is very effective in addressing this issue.

“O” shape: in this case, volume is harmonious, and fat is distributed evenly on the hips.

“A” shape, considered ideal in Europe: the buttocks are convex, hips are generous and reveal a slim waist.

“V” shape: the lower part of the buttocks is flat, and the fatty tissue is concentrated in the hips. Lipo-filling removes the cells that store fat from the love handles.

The Brazilian Butt Lift will naturally reshape the body by combining liposuction and lipo-filling procedures. The surgeon creates or increases volume in the buttocks while reducing the size of the waist, hips and thighs.

The buttock lipo-filling procedure in detail

The length of the procedure varies depending on the amount of fat to be removed. It is performed in an operating room under general anesthesia. The surgeon first suctions the amount of fat desired from the predetermined areas. This amount can range from 500 to 5,000 cc of fat. This traditional liposuction is performed using microcannulas that leave virtually no scar. Once removed, the fat is purified. Only the adipose cells, i.e. the cells containing fat are grafted for more natural assimilation. Fat is injected back into the gluteal muscle and subcutaneous tissue using microcannulas that leave no visible scars.

This body reshaping technique offers permanent results. The injected fat will follow the patient’s weight fluctuations. It is crucial for patients to maintain a stable weight and avoid gaining or losing weight too fast.
