Surgical treatments can solve drooping eyelids problems. However, botulinum toxin injections can be used in order to lift up the eyebrow when only the eyelids begin to become saggy. A surgical treatment is required for other conditions.

  • A blepharoplasty of the upper eyelid will help remove the skin excess that covers the eye. This common treatment may be combined with a temporal lift or botulinum toxin injections. In this case, botulinum toxin injections should be performed before the surgery in order to obtain the best possible result over time.
  • Ptosis, drooping eyelids because of the levator eyelid muscle failure, should always be investigated in order to determine if a specific treatment is required. Ptosis implies a partial or a complete covering of the iris. The cutting made for the blepharoplasty will be used for the treatment, which may be combined with a resection of excess skin in the eyelid.
